I John 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life At Calvary Church we are wanting to put LIFE into our communities. We are working to bring hope and love to our neigbourhoods. Through our four fold mission. Leading people to Jesus Christ Perhaps the wisest man that ever lived (Solomon) said that God has set eternity in the hearts of men. Truly in the heart of every man and woman is found a burning desire and passion for life. However life and its problem can lay heavy burdens upon us that while carrying such a load we can be robbed of the enjoyment we were created to have. Jesus Christ invited those who are carrying heavy burdens to come to him and lay them down. Once you have done this you won’t ever want to pick those burdens up again. After finding much joy, you will want to lead others to this refreshing place so they can experience true joy for themself. Instructing and expecting spiritual maturity It has been said and how true it is, aim for nothing and you will most likely hit the target. Every living thing is growing and maturing. A healthy baby, through the processes of life, will come to adulthood. At Calvary Church we believe in the need to help each and every person grow to spiritual maturity at a pace that is comfortable to him or her. With this in mind, we have specifically designed discipleship classes that are taught in small group settings so that we can help you chart your course to growing in God. Finding our role in the harvest We are truly fulfilled when we are doing what we were created to do. It is very sad but many people trudge through life never knowing their real purpose and what God’s intentions are for their lives. They change careers, houses, cars and marriage partners but remain empty inside. Jesus said, "the harvest is plenteous and laborers are needed", what is your role? Calvary Church wants to help you find it and provide a unique course called Ministry Discovery that will help you do just that. Evangelize through Community Home Groups Small groups provide a tremendous entry point to a Christian experience. The structure of large churches sometimes make it difficult for new people to find their way to a place where they can have their needs met. The first century church, as recorded in the book of ACTS assembled in homes. These small groups provided loving and meaningful relationships to the members. At Calvary Church we have Community Home Groups meeting weekly throughout the National Capital Region. The goal of each group is three-fold: 1) Grow in relationship with God 2) Grow in relationship with each other 3) Grow in number to 12-15, then multiply the group. |
