70 Winter items donated to local charities

This winter is insane. Polar Vortexes! Snow storms every other week! It’s too much! But imagine what it’s like for people who don’t have a warm winter coat.

Calvary Church believes that God can work miracles through us when we put our faith in action.

Putting our faith in action

Over the course of three weeks, Calvary Church collected winter coats, mitts, hats, boots, and blankets for those in need. In the end, we collected 70 winter wear items for the people who need them most. We donated these items to:

50 coats for The Shepherds of Good Hope

We delivered 50 coats and two pairs of boots to The Shepherds of Good Hope (SGH) shelter. Every night they are over capacity. Almost every person that walks through their doors needs a warm coat to brave this winter. SGH will distribute our donations to our city’s most vulnerable adults.

“[We are] grateful to receive such a large quantity of coats in a single donation as it was the most needed item this season.” - A representative of The Shepherds of Good Hope

18 winter items for The Snowsuit Fund of Ottawa

We delivered 18 winter outerwear items to The Snowsuit Fund of Ottawa. That included:

  • children’s coats
  • mittens
  • hats
  • blankets

They will distribute our donations to children in need in Ottawa.

“[We give our] thanks and appreciation to Calvary Church for its contributions” - A representative of The Snowsuit Fund of Ottawa
